Caring for your DENIM

Entretien de votre DENIM

How to wash your jeans?

It's no secret: to keep a garment looking its best, regardless of its quality, you need to take care of it. We'll explain how to care for your jeans so they stay in your wardrobe.

1. Before washing:

- Turn your jeans inside out to protect the color and details.

- Close the fly and buttons to prevent them from damaging the fabric or the machine.

2. Cold wash:

- Maximum 30°C to preserve color and fibers.

- Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach, especially for unbleached jeans or black boyfriend jeans.

3. Drying

- Air dry to avoid shrinkage and preserve the cotton fibers

NB: To avoid limescale marks that the tap water from your washing machine can leave on your raw jeans , we recommend adding a tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda or white vinegar directly to your drum.

Beware of Jacron leather labels: If your jeans have a Jacron leather label, it may transfer color to the fabric, especially on unbleached jeans. To prevent this: Isolate the label by wrapping it in a white cloth or cloth bag before washing. Test the Jacron's colorfastness by lightly dabbing the label with a damp cloth before the first wash. How to care for your jeans so they last longer?

Taking care of your jeans is essential to ensure their durability and maintain their shape over time. Whether you wear women's mom jeans, a long denim skirt, or shorts, here are some tips to keep them in perfect condition.

    1. Washing jeans

Wash cold: This preserves the color and texture of the denim.

Use a mild detergent: Avoid bleaching products, especially for black boyfriend jeans or unbleached jeans.

Turn your jeans inside out before washing: This protects the seams and details.

    2. Drying

Air dry: This is especially recommended for mom jeans or skinny jeans, as tumble drying can affect their elasticity.

Machine dry low: For wider styles like boyfriend jeans, follow the label recommendations.

    3. Ironing

Use a moderate temperature: Steam is best for fitted styles like women's mom jeans.

Avoid ironing directly over seams: This can crush them and damage the fabric.

    4. Task management

Act quickly: To remove a stain, use a stain remover suitable for denim or rub gently with Marseille soap before washing.

Avoid harsh products: They can alter the color and texture of the jeans.

    5. Alternation of parts

Alternate between several pairs: This prevents premature wear.

Let the denim rest: Between wears, this allows the fabric to keep its shape longer.
